Fundraising Sporting Dinner

In aid of CASTLE - Culter Amateur Sports (Training, Leisure and Education) Limited

A Sporting Dinner hosted by CASTLE Limited will take place on Friday 17th September 2004 at Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen, to raise funds for a multi purpose, all weather sporting facility for Lower Deeside.

Guest speakers for the evening will be Jim Leishman and Alistair Ogston Robertson, and compere for the evening will be Northsound Radio’s Dave Macdermid.

Speakers

Jim Leishman’s illustrious football career began at Dunfermline Football Club, however his days as a player sadly ended in 1974 through injury. After years away from the club, coaching and managing at Meadowbank and Livingston FCs, he then returned in August 2001, to take up the demanding role as General Manager and Club Secretary.

Aberdonian Alistair Ogston Robertson is a specialist in Agricultural Law and is a senior partner of Burnett & Reid Advocates in Aberdeen. He has always been a keen sportsman and apparently was eligible to play for Scotland in his younger days, unfortunately his prowess on the rugby field went undetected by the team selectors and so, sadly, his true sporting potential remains unrealised to this day!

Compere

Dave Macdermid has worked with Northsound Radio since 1985, both as a music presenter and with the sports team, and has compered countless events throughout the North East. Marketing Manager with Aberdeen FC, Dave has been involved with the Culter Boys Club for the last six years, hosting the club’s annual prize-giving.

Costs: Tables of 10 people - £400 or £40.00 per person.
Dress Code: Lounge Suit

Parachute Jump

On Saturday 25th September 2004, a party of 6 descended (literally) on St Andrews for the SPARKS Parachute Jump.

Full training was given and the party were then taken high above the clouds. The Tandem jumps were the first to exit the plane and to the frustration of the 4 left, visibility was deemed too poor and unfortunately they have to go back at a later date. We wait with baited breath (as do they) to hear how they get on.

Once everyone has jumped an estimated grand total of £400 will have been raised by all of those involved! A tremendous effort and show of bravery!
